Amber holds a PhD in marine social-ecological science, focusing on the intersection of marine ecosystems and human communities. She has conducted research globally, including in Madagascar, the Maldives, Indonesia, Mexico, and the UK, and has an excellent understanding of how to adapt research to diverse local contexts.
She has published work utilising a wide range of interdisciplinary methods including underwater ecological surveys, oceanographic and climate analysis, social surveys, interviews, and visual anthropology. She is particularly passionate about the co-production of knowledge, working with intergenerational groups in traditional and indigenous communities to increase the usability of research and development projects in the local context.
